Dr. Mazen Sawaf has built an exceptional career spanning more than three decades, during which he worked across the United States and the Gulf region, combining medicine, innovation, and humanitarian leadership. He founded and managed CosmeSurge, a network of cosmetic surgery and dermatology centers, and contributed to the establishment of Emirates Hospital in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, before launching Novomed, which has grown into a large healthcare provider in the United Arab Emirates. He later expanded his vision by establishing Vitatech, a company specializing in the supply of medical equipment, reflecting his belief that healthcare extends beyond treatment to building integrated systems of care and innovation. Recognizing the importance of mental health, he also founded Nafsi, a Dubai-based platform dedicated to providing psychological support and mental health services for individuals and corporate employees.
Upon returning to Syria in early 2025, Dr. Sawaf launched Syrex Holding, an investment group comprising several specialized companies with the objective of attracting investment and driving economic development across multiple sectors. He also became a partner in Forsa, a human resources and recruitment platform that delivers professional training and skills development programs for both public and private sector organizations, contributing to workforce development and enhancing the readiness of national talent for the labor market.
Driven by his conviction that sustainable development begins with people, Dr. Sawaf founded Ribat Al Amal Charity, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students and underprivileged families through monthly financial assistance, school supplies, and food aid, thereby helping to improve quality of life and expand access to education. He also brought the vision of the Nafsi platform to Syria through a non-profit model under the umbrella of the charity, culminating in the opening of a free mental health center in the city of Daraya. The center provides psychological treatment and counseling services to individuals of all age groups affected by the consequences of war, with the aim of promoting psychological recovery and supporting their successful reintegration into society.
